For some of us the day began early. We left at 6:30 AM for the ramp site we have been working on for the last few days to get in as much work as possible. With such a quick start on the day we were able to nearly complete a 28-foot wheelchair ramp and demolish a different pre-existing ramp.
Others of us went back to Joseph’s demolition site, the owner of the house we were deconstructing. After pulling out nails and bringing down rafters we completed taking apart all of Joseph’s great-grandfather’s dilapidated house.
Following a hearty dinner of chili and chips after our lengthy work day we had our nightly devotional with our passage being 1 Corinthians 13:7.
The day was long, hot, dusty, and insect-filled, but the work we accomplished and results we achieved made the difficulties worth it. In the challenges we worked through we are experiencing love and the power of mission.
Tomorrow we plan on getting another early start on the day to work on the ramps and begin to prepare for returning home.
